Some newer models do generate a lot of waste ink, but I don't expect issues with older printers like my Stylus 2200 or R2400.ģ-If it has taken this long to fill up those waste ink pads, why should that change.Ĥ-I never update Firmware on a printer, new or old.

I can easily open them, repack the waste ink tank and buy that reset key. Replacement tanks are about $10 and the new tank has a code that resets the counter.įor example, my Epson XP-950 and WF-7010 have unofficial waste ink tanks, clearly built in during the transition to official ones. I laud Epson for now including waste ink tanks on many models, including some current WorkForce printers. Maybe I'll try one of Epson's EcoTank printers.ġ-I don't consider the $10 or so that WicReset charges to be excessive.ĭan have you done something about the actual waste ink situation? It's not just resetting the counters! Have you installed an external waste in bottle?Ģ-I can't tell you which models, but some Epsons have official and unofficial waste ink tanks. This is why I buy my music and software and avoid subscription services whenever I can. I just don't like to use services that require you to keep paying. I'd be willing to pay for a program like that. I wish SSC was still developing their free reset software. I'm willing to pay for someone's time and effort to produce a 3rd party program, but to charge $10 per reset? I guess if I have no other choice. I'm going to install Windows XP to see if that will change anything. It keeps giving me a communication error. I even found a download for it but I can't get it to work on my computer. In fact, there are people selling Epson's technician reset program, and it can perform unlimited resets. $10 is something I'm willing to pay but it shouldn't have to cost anything at all.
